Last month I told you I had a new short story coming out next entitled The Burglar. I’m happy to report is available now.
The Burglar one of a few I will publish over the next few months that represents a change in direction from all of my other writings to date. Namely, the fantasy subgenres, dark, grimdark, high, epic and dark fantasy/horror.
I’m taking a break—taking a break I said—as opposed to giving up writing epic long form fiction to concentrate on releasing some short form pieces.
The aim is to mess with readers’ minds in a different way, or give them something more to think about, which is risque. How so? Some readers, in particular, newer ones, may prefer the tone, pace, and gist of the short form pieces, while others who’ve been with me for years may only care for the epic dark fantasy stories. I have thought about these possibilities thoroughly, and decided to publish the short stories anyway.
The Burglar is urban fiction, aka street literature, which usually is known for being set in a city landscape featuring a dark mood or tone. The Burglar is that with a twist. The culprit’s name or more about his identity is never disclosed, in this daring tale about a break in with the most unusual twists and turns.
I invite you to give it a try. It won’t take much of your time to read it. So, why not do it? and please be kind enough to leave a review at the site when you’re done reading. You don’t have to write a treatise. A few heartfelt words or a couple of paragraphs about your opinion will suffice.
